In this morning’s reading, I mentioned Judah’s Sceptre by JH Allen, and in particular it was in reference to Zarah and the breach of Judah’s sons by his daughter-in-law Tamar. This was a breach, but it was specifically affecting the line of Judah, the kingly line. The chapter in Judah’s Sceptre that begins to go into this is online, and it is “Chapter VI: The Prince of the Scarlet Thread”.
We need to remember that JH Allen was a Protestant, so there are portions of his book that do not agree with Church of God beliefs and theology. Nonetheless, for its day, it was quite a well researched book on British Israelism (aka Anglo Israelism).
Also, Herbert W Armstrong spoke about this breach in his booklet (almost a book) The United States and Britain in Prophecy, chapter 8 “The Mysterious Breach”.
There is no need to repeat their works here. I will note, however, that the breach concept did not make it into his work Mystery of the Ages, so this wasn’t exactly a major doctrine of HWA’s. Still, it is an explanation of events that brings prophecy to light.
